I played more shows than I thought I would this year and all of them were fantastic. I got to reconnect with lots of people I haven’t seen in years and I try out new ideas. Some of those ideas are turning into solid demos that I hope to release in 2025.
One thing I did in 2024 was always play a different set at every show. Kind of annoying and stressful at times but worth it in the end.
Catch up on all of the shows from 2024 below, cheers and Happy New Year!

Richmond, VA
I haven’t seen Johnathon Rickman since he moved to Richmond so it was awesome to get an invitation to come down and play his Sunday showcase and catch up.
I was able to catch J&R’s Music World twice this year and both sets were incredible examples of electronic minimalism for the maximum. Can’t wait to see a release from them. Also on the bill was my first chance to see Wolf in Wool and Alan combined guitar and synth loops to create a warm wall of sound.

Rhizome, DC
The Rhizome show was a special one for a number of reasons. I got to catch John and Sondra (Ceremony East Coast) again, see Tremours and catch up with Lauren who I haven’t seen in 10 years, and Sam and I played some Alcian Blue songs together for the first time since Alcian Blue broke up.
It was a special night and it couldn’t have happened at a better venue. Rhizome is currently working on a permanent space and you can donate to support renovations here.

Modular Movies Night
It’s always fun to play some end of summer shows as the season starts to shift. Doug and Monica asked me to be part of an end of summer jam at Galaxy Hut where we spliced images up on a screen and everyone jammed on synths. I pulled out my old Yamaha CS5 synth which has a fun filter and some cool sounds and use the 0-Coast for additional sounds. It was fun to stretch out ideas on a few synths for an hour or so.
Also in the session is Carlyon (Tangent Universes) and Robert Austin.

Mobius Records 10th Anniversary Showcase
Mobius is an awesome little record shop in downtown Fairfax who survived the pandemic and celebrated 10 years this summer. My buds Ice Out asked me to play with them and I got a chance to play the Juno 60 out live. Such a fun synth to use with a rock band, we even did a JC cover.

Galaxy Hut, VA
Lary told us the Hut was going to start doing shows again and I was able to play after 5 years of absence. The Galaxy Hut is a special place for me and DC area music.
My friend Drew and I had been talking about doing a show for years but the pandemic slowed that plan down. We were able to pull it together for this show and it was great to reconnect with them.
I also did up a special poster for the night and had some printed.

Art Sound Language, DC
Stephen Loya had a showing at Art Sound Language and had music for his opening and closing ceremonies.
All of the artists had a painting done by Stephen based on one of our songs. Mine was The Endless from my last tape release of the same name. I had to go back and find the old midi files and then figure out how I wanted to update the song with different synths and setup.
My only mistake was not recording it because it sounded great in the room. Also on the bill were the excellent Tangent Universes and Tristan Welch.

Arts Herndon, VA
My bud Tyler put this one together. Arts Herndon is an amazing space. We checked out the Cuni, XK Scenario, and Ekko Astral show the week before and for loud heavy bands like those, the space has that wonderful gnarly concrete reverby sound that amplifies the energy.
Our show was much chiller but I still decided to pull out a sub and lots of reverb. Go check a show out or some art, they also have a neat bookstore too, worth the trip locally!
